Moving Services

You Move Me specializes in local, long-distance, commercial, and senior moves. Learn more about our expert moving services.

All boxes need to be covered. If no cover is available, we ask that you re-pack or allow our specialists to shrink wrap your box for a small charge. Find out more about our packing services.

Yes, but plants can be tricky to move. Some customers prefer to move them ahead of time.

You Move Me moves upright (spinet) or console pianos. Grand and baby grand pianos may be moved, but we need to give you an onsite estimate to make sure we can keep your piano safe and secure during the move. Call (855) 738-5256 or contact us online to schedule your onsite estimate.

There are a few things that we do not usually move. However, please call your You Move Me location to discuss your specific needs, and we will do everything we can to accommodate them. 

  • Extremely valuable items, such as jewelry, paintings, chandeliers, and fine wines
  • Ammunition, firearms, and combustible items
  • Appliances connected to, or items containing, gas
  • Cars
  • Pets

Pricing and Payment

Our moving company charges you at an hourly rate, for the time spent on your move. We also have a fee for materials (pads, tape, wrapping materials, and disposal after the move) and a travel fee that covers getting to your residence and getting back to our office from your drop-off location. Our prices are all-inclusive and up-front. We will explain our estimate to you ahead of time, so you know what to expect. No surprises, just awesome movers who care! Contact us today to set up a free in-home estimate.

Our flat-rate, one-time travel fee covers us getting to your move location and getting back to our office from your drop-off location. We pride ourselves on upfront pricing with no surprises.

We are an hourly-rate moving company; however, for large and long-distance moves, our local franchise owners can give you a flat-rate estimate. Contact your local You Move Me location for more information.

You Move Me may charge peak pricing during the busiest times of the year due to higher operational costs. However, we always provide up-front rates during the estimate process, and you will know the hourly rate before booking your move. No surprises on moving day!

All You Move Me locations accept credit card payments, and some may also accept checks or cash.

We provide all discounts through advertisements we send out or you find online. We also specialize in helping seniors move. Learn more about our senior moving services.

Logistics and Scheduling

Our smart technology provides highly precise estimates, either virtually or during an on-site visit. You get peace of mind knowing you have an accurate estimate based on your specific move, not a number some company made up based on their assumptions.

You Move Me hires our own employees, who we thoroughly train and certify. Our movers are awesome!

We don’t start the clock until we arrive at your home, and we stop the clock after we’ve performed our final walk-through with you.

Each You Move Me location has different size trucks to serve you. Our clean, shiny, move-ready trucks range from 20′ to a 26′ mover’s box.

Our trained agents will estimate how many trucks your move will need. In the event that all your items don’t fit on one truck, the crew will either make an additional trip or send out an additional truck.

Furniture and Home Protection

We protect all your belongings using our padded moving blankets. We wrap every piece from top to bottom. We also protect your home during the move with blankets and floor runners. We use dollies to move items. For heavy items, we use shoulder straps to ensure everything is moved safely from start to finish.

We are federally mandated in the U.S. to pay $0.60 per pound for any damaged item; however, we go above and beyond to satisfy our customers on an individual basis. We do reserve the right to fix any item, or replace any item if it is not fixable. All claims for damage(s) must be made in writing to You Move Me within 10 days of us completing your move. Please know that we have no obligation to honor any damages claim made later than 10 days after completion of the move. Note that this policy does not apply to our Guelph-Kitchener-Waterloo location.

We will fix any cosmetic damage to walls, floors, and ceilings. Structural damage, if not easily fixed, will be subcontracted out through our insurance agent, or a settlement will be arranged.

Yes, we move in all “non-severe” weather conditions. We cover your items with storage pads or shrink wrap as they exit your home and wipe them dry as they enter the truck or your new home.

Our specialists operate with a “care-first” mentality. We will protect all your hardwoods and tile floors when we get to your home at no extra cost. If you need full carpet shields, we offer these as well for a small fee. Your home is safe with us.

Our You Move Me specialists will disassemble and reassemble all standard beds. Custom-made beds or baby cribs will need to be disassembled before we arrive, and then we will carefully move them to your new home.

We suggest that you remove all items from all drawers, as this will make it easier, safer and faster to move.

All our locations are fully insured and licensed to provide worry-free service. Each of our You Move Me specialists are fully trained to make your day stress-free and easy.
