What Makes Downtown Indianapolis a Great Place to Live
While the process of moving is always fraught with stress, there’s another description You Move Me customers often express to us when moving into the Indianapolis area for the first time—a feeling of excitement.
Once disparagingly referred to as “India-no-place”, Indianapolis has come of age in the last 30 years. It’s now recognized as a city with a vibrant, appealing downtown. A major source of this appeal lies in its accessibility. Unlike other larger, traffic-choked and high-rent megalopolises, the capital city offers a walkability and bikeability in a safe, it somewhat slower, pace that is attractive to many.
With rents that are cheap relative to coastal cities, downtown Indianapolis provides quick access to sports venues, museums, parks, green spaces, offices, shops, places of worship and a booming restaurant scene. These all make for an attractive living environment for both millennials and empty nesters.
Distinctive neighborhoods abound
Distinctive neighborhoods include Mass Ave, with new condos popping up everywhere. The location is home to a growing array of restaurants and theaters. Fletcher Place and Fountain Square offer a more artsy, bohemian aura of living for DIY types looking for homes they can put their own personal stamp on. Then, there is the Central Canal area and White River State Park, home to summer events, the zoo and other outdoor activities.
The Cultural Trail, a popular walking/biking trail, winds through all these districts offering easy access. Of course, professional sports are a big part of Indianapolis, home to both an NBA and NFL team along with state-of-the-art facilities.
You Move Me proudly represents our city as the preferred Indianapolis moving company of choice. We provide moving choices for many of our customers to the downtown area. Of course, we also move many into popular Northside suburbs like Westfield, Carmel, Zionsville and Noblesville and Southside communities like Greenwood. Let us make your next move a smooth one.
