We’re the principle sponsor of Chair Affair 2015!
In just under 4 weeks’ time, the International Centre in Toronto will be transformed by Chair Affair, an event that brings together one-of-a-kind designs made by some of Canada’s most prominent interior designers and decorators. Chair Affair is Furniture Bank’s annual auction-based gala and fundraiser. At the event, prominent artists and designers reimagine, redesign and repurpose old chairs for auction. All proceeds from the gala will go to support Furniture Bank’s efforts to help individuals establish new homes and new lives with dignity, and especially to support refugees settling into new lives in Ontario.
You Move Me is proud to announce that it’s the principle sponsor of this year’s event. You Move Me will undertake all transportation logistics connected to the live auction of 40 chairs and other items of furniture.
“At You Move Me, we aim to do more than move people’s boxes; we hope to ‘move’ people in our community. That’s why we jumped at the opportunity to take the lead in supporting Chair Affair,” says Ashton Lubman, Franchise Partner, You Move Me. “We’re honoured to take part in an event that helps raise much-needed funds to support incoming refugees, and we’re excited to deliver the chairs to the generous buyers at the auction.”
“With an expanded roster of over 40 of designers participating in this year’s live auction, the 2015 version of Chair Affair will be our biggest yet,” says Dan Kershaw, Executive Director of Furniture Bank. “But that also means an even greater logistical challenge involving transporting and delivering 40 works of art from the floor to the stage, and from the stage to the buyer, which is why we are immensely grateful for You Move Me’s support.”
