When is it Cheapest to Move in Portland Oregon?
Portlanders often don’t realize this, but the date they choose to move often impacts the price they pay for movers.
The price tariff system from the state has a lower rate on weekdays, and a smaller minimum number of hours on weekdays. This means that, especially for smaller moves, it is often cheapest to move during the week, as opposed to weekends or holidays.
For example, if a client in Portland is moving some items out of storage with You Move Me, the minimum hours we can charge on the weekend are 4, while the minimum hours we can charge for during the week is only 2.
In addition, when doing moves during the week we are allowed to charge about 23% less than the state requires us to bill on weekends, and even more of a discount vs. holidays.
