Spectacular Indianapolis Walking Trails

Walking is a great way to get exercise while also enjoying the outdoor space around you. Residents of the greater Indianapolis area are blessed with a large, developed system of trails that will satisfy everyone. Whether you desire want to take a leisurely stroll or get your cardio in for the day, there are many choices when it comes to picking a trail.

Great Trails Abound Throughout Indy

The Granddaddy of walking trails, of course, is the Monon Trail. With over 1.5 million users each year, this trail is well-maintained and connects a host of neighborhoods along it’s pathway from Hamilton County to downtown Indy. This trail is particularly popular with our You Move Me customers living in Westfield, Noblesville, and Carmel.

If your idea of a trail includes a more-urban setting, consider the Indianapolis Cultural Trail, which winds eight miles through trendy areas like Fountain Square, Mass Ave, the Canal and White River State Park and the Wholesale District. A good place to start is Massachusetts Avenue and 10th street.

Other Popular Trails

Central Canal Towpath – this stretches from Broad Ripple to 38th St and passes through Butler University and the Indianapolis Museum of Art.

Pleasant Run Trail – this 7-mile trail on the city’s Southside follows Pleasant Run Creek and includes Garfield Park.

White River Greenway – a 3-mile trail in Noblesville along the White River.

Polk Hill Trail – a 2-mile trail, located in Greenwood, that winds around Emerson and merges with Smith Valley to end at Craig Park.

With all these walking trail choices, there’s no excuse not to get-a-move-on! We like that thought. After all, “move” is our middle name! You Move Me is the best Noblesville, Westfield, Carmel and Indianapolis mover, and we are proud of the many trails available to enjoy throughout our neighborhoods.
