Video Transcription:
John: Hey guys, John Fagan with Superior Realty Partners. Welcome back to another video. Today I have a special guest as we talk about what to look for in a moving company.
John: Alright, welcome back to the video. Thanks for being here today. I’m here with Tony Sandoval, General Manager of You Move Me and we want to talk today about is what to look for in a moving company. So Tony, thanks for being here and please explain, you know, what someone when they’re getting ready to move, what they should look for in a moving company.
Tony: Yeah, thanks. Thanks for having me, John. First things first, you want to make sure that they’re going to be licensed. You want to make sure that they have the proper insurances, you want to make sure that they follow, if you’re California, you want to follow California PUC law, so you want to make sure they have all those appropriate numbers. You also kind of want to check their, obviously the reputation. So you can check us out on, you know, the Better Business Bureau website, you can check us out on Yelp, Home Advisor, Angie’s List—we have five star markings all throughout.
You also want to kind of make sure who’s taking care of you. So in our case, we don’t contract any work out. So all of my team is my team, trained by me. They’ve been background screened by me, they’re all my guys that I pay on my payroll, and you also want to make sure who’s going to be taking care of you. So in our case it’s me. I come out, I do the estimate, I walk you through the entire process from A to Z. So, I’m the first one that calls you, I’m the last one that calls you. I come out, I do the estimate. If it’s not me, it’s going to be my right hand guy, my operations manager. So you get the full scope of what we can do through me.
John: Alright, and you’re always here checking on your team. Like, we’re at a house today that you guys are moving and you’re here checking in on things are going well.
Tony: I always have to stop by make sure my team is okay. I bring them some water, some Gatorade. I also want to make sure the client is okay, the scope of work hasn’t changed, make sure they feel comfortable, and just make sure everybody’s doing okay. You know, moving is stressful. It’s a hard job, it’s a hard thing to go through, and I just want to make it as easy humanly possible.
John: That’s great. Now you mentioned insurance. What type of insurance should people be watching out for in a moving company?
Tony: You want to check out what their liability insurance is, especially if you’re moving into a building, into a high-rise, into an apartment. Oftentimes you’re going to ask the moving company to be insured, or to be added on as an additional insured. For that you need up to a million dollars of liability insurance. We carry two million dollars of liability insurance. They’re going to ask for workers comp, we have workers comp insurance. They’re going to ask for, you know, various other aspects of insurance, but we’re fully covered on every spectrum. So you want to make sure that they’re insured that way.
John: Awesome, wonderful. So tell the folks, if they want to get a hold of you and You Move Me and to learn more about your services, how do they get a hold of you?
Tony: There’s a couple ways, they can visit our website, youmoveme.com. They can also call our 1-800 number, which is 1-800-926-3900. They can reach us either or and they’ll direct you on over to me. I’ll give you a call, set up an estimate, and I’ll take care of you.
John: Wonderful. Alright Tony, thanks for joining us today. If you have any questions about moving, you can reach out to me, of course. Reach out to You Move Me for more about their services.
