Items that aren’t covered by moving insurance
Licensed movers in Vancouver, Washington are required to provide basic insurance for items moved to consumers, and consumers may opt to purchase additional moving insurance.
Some of these types of insurance refer to “replacement value”. However, there are certain types of items which are excluded from this.
Insurance does not apply to items of a unique or antique nature, such as art, antiques, statues, etc.
Items that, by their inherent nature, cannot be replaced are not covered in moving insurance.
The other main group of items excluded from moving insurance is items that become more valuable (real or sentimental) with age or history. This includes collectibles, memorabilia, and souvenirs.
